Join us at Honey Dip for an evening of mesmerizing experimental short films from the FRAMES collection. On hand will be dozens of 16mm reels to choose, encompassing avant-garde gems of early cinema to contemporary artist-made works from recent decades.
As with our other events in this format there’s no fixed program and audience participation is encouraged to suggest what threads next. This is a unique opportunity to experience these analog treasures by filmmakers both celebrated and obscure, offering a wide variety of aesthetics & techniques ranging from richly textured hand-processed studies to intricate optically printed abstractions, hypnotically frenetic deliriums, interpretive found footage assemblages, structuralist curiosities, and ektachrome rarities of west coast psychedelia.
Please note that several of these films contain flickering images which may be sensitive to uninitiated eyes and most certainly harmful to those with epileptic conditions.
